Lagrangian Matter Tracers: The Jet Emerges
Throughout the simulation, we seed "particles" to serve as tracers of Lagrangian fluid elements. Then we track where these particles move as we follow the evolution of the matter and magnetic field. We choose to seed and track the particles that originate in the disk after the black hole forms. As the evolution proceeds, some particles escape from the disk into the funnels above the black hole poles. The figures below are snapshots of the particles at different times. Also, the particles in the disk move outward with the shock-heated "wind outflow" in the same manner as in the magnetic-free case.
