Initial Configuration

Evolution is performed with the BSSN scheme on an AMR grid with 9 levels of refinement. The outer boundary of our grid is 320M and the mesh spacing ranges from &DeltaXmax = 8.0M in the outermost level to &DeltaXmin = M/32 in the innermost level. In this simulation, the initial coordinate radius of the binary orbit is D/M = 9.89, and the initial orbital frequency is &Omega M = 0.0286. Here M is the total initial ADM mass of the binary. Initially both black holes are approximately irrotational and in a quasicircular orbit. The initial binary is described by "puncture" initial data for nonspinning black holes.
